SID SHANNON co-sponsored the initial launch of The Belfast Review Magazine in 2023, and is an avid patron of the arts, humanitarian, father of two, bookworm, California resident, and practitioner of kindness. His people come from County Clare and Derry/Londonderry.

Editor in Chief / Co-Founder

HANNA NIELSON is a writer-actor-filmmaker in Belfast who works as Freelance Editor & Designer for small presses, journals, and authors in Northern Ireland and beyond. Her work appears in The Ogham Stone, The Honest Ulsterman, Roi Fainéant, and more. Her articles on feminist and BIPOC representation in media have appeared in Ms in the Biz and SoCal Media Group. With a MA in Creative Writing (U Leeds) and BA in Cinema and Literature (U Iowa), she has attended the Iowa Writers' Workshop and Iowa Playwrights' Workshop. She is also a documentary filmmaker with film festival awards; her screenplays have placed highly in contests, including the Sundance Screenwriters Lab. Her debut novel, Did You Pay the Piper Man?, a literary speculative novel set in Celtic Tiger era Belfast is available widely (Uí Néill Press, 2025).
